The Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach is proud to introduce the Connecticut Mission of Mercy (CTMOM). CTMOM will be a large-scale, multi-chair dental clinic that travels around the state annually to underserved areas. Our first event was held in April on the 12th and 13th, 2008 at Old Tolland High School in Tolland, CT. CTMOM is set to return to New Haven, CT in 2009. Dates for 2009 will be announced soon.
Phone lines at the Connecticut State Dental Association and member dental offices are often flooded by callers who desperately need dental care. These callers are in pain, frustrated, without answers, and yet they still have hope that the staff member answering the phone will have the solution to help them. For the past two years, several Connecticut dentists have investigated a way to help this situation: CTMOM.
The concept is simple: to create a multi-day dental clinic in a large facility and then open the clinic door to the community. Dental services will be provided to anyone (children, adults and the elderly) who is without dental insurance and in a low-income situation. Patients will be screened and treated based on their most urgent dental needs. The best part about CTMOM is that this treatment is absolutely FREE!
Services will be provided by volunteer dentists, U Conn dental students, dental hygienists and dental assistants. All services will be on a first come, first served basis. No appointments.
Services Provided: Cleanings, Fillings, and Extractions.
Place and Times for the event are as follows:
